Tuesday Update – Worldwide

AS another heatwave draws to a close in the UK we continue to pray for rain. Historically in the UK, shops with the sign “Minerals” referred to bottled water and I do wonder if things continue whether we will get enquiries asking if we stock precious water. For now though, our focus is on crystallized mineral specimens.

In our update today we feature mostly new specimens from collections we have recently acquired. It is always exciting to see what treasures are hidden within older collections as localities sometimes get forgotten about.

In today’s listing a classic example is the Wulfenite from Tecoma mine. Only by checking the original catalogue listing do the details become clear, and although listed as from Tecoma mine in Arizona it appears to be a lost treasure from Tecoma mine in Utah which produced delicate ‘webs’ of glossy golden-orange transparent Wulfenite crystals during the 1960s or 1970s.

As a company we handle many old German collections too, many of which are richer in African minerals than European. This is certainly the case with two recent acquisitions and, again, superb specimens from older, sometimes forgotten localities appear. There are many wonderful older African pieces in this update, but also brand new finds from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Please enjoy perusing what we have to offer.
