Iconic and eye-catching. This camouflage, or khaki-green aggregate of rhombic Calcite crystals is anything but disguised. The ordinarily rare lead copper arsenate species Duftite is well-known at Tsumeb mine and forms many different combinations, but those with Calcite rhombs - either as inclusions, or surface coatings are the most sought after. This superb small cabinet piece is incredibly richly carpeted with Duftite microcrystals, so much so that to the untrained eye this might look like a green rhombic mineral, but the glassy cream-coloured Calcite can be seen pocking through on the edges. Not only is this a beautiful combination, and a classic, but one should not forget that on a world scale Duftite is a rarer species too. Ex Hettrich Collection.
