Excellent, well-formed, steel-grey tetrahedral Tetrahedrite crystals with complex modified crystal faces perched upon crystallized white Quartz from the classic occurrence at Cavnic mine, Romania. The largest crystal reaches 1.1 cm wide with others between 7 and 8 mm across. The matrix - massive Quartz veinstone - is disseminated with Pyrite. Tetrahedrite is, of course, now a group and subgroup divided into many species. The Cavnic material has not yet been sufficiently defined chemically, so should technically be called "Tetrahedrite Subgroup", but I am sure collectors will still use just Tetrahedrite. The 8 mm wide, well-defined crystal near the edge of the specimen looks good front on, but is missing one corner, but this is only really apparent from the back. The other crystals on the front face are in nice condition, with just slight signs of tarnish. A lovely Tetrahedrite miniature from Cavnic.
