A nice, Hedgehog-like miniature bed of sharp, terminated Quartz crystals from Geevor mine in Cornwall with the added prestige of having belonged to, and probably collected by, Captain Alan Brewer the mine captain who received the Queens Medal of Gallantry for bravery during a mine rescue at Geevor mine in January 1980. Specifically from the 14 Coronation Lode, the crystals under magnification are seen to have internal phantoms, where a thin red layer of Hematite inclusions create an outline of smaller Quartz crystals inside. Although labelled as Smoky Quartz is is on the cusp of being the Eisenkiesel (red) variety. Ex Malcolm Southwood Collection, no. MS 1998.042.
