An exceptional group of large, well developed deep cherry-red Rhodonite crystals with a little attached Galena around their base. This is an unusual specimen for the size of the crystals from North Mine at Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Forming steep, four-sided pyramids to 3 x 1.3 cm and lozenge-shaped crystals to 4 cm across, this is a very fine specimen for display. The Rhodonite is mainly translucent with a bright glassy lustre and in transmitted light displays the true cherry-red colour around the periphery of the crystals. A magnificent specimen from North Mine, Broken Hill.
