Sceptred Quartz specimens with Amethyst tips and Milky stems are always fun things to see. In 2019, a small pocket of crystals were discovered in the Chiredzi mining district, Masvingo, Zimbabwe but their supply was short-lived, perhaps because no similar pockets where found. Virtually all of the specimens consist of a narrow, poorly crystallized stem with a wider, sometimes almost doubly-terminated, short prismatic crystal on top. This 6.5 cm long specimen is quite different in that it has a second small sceptre at the other end of the 'stem', making it extremely distinctive and like a wand. The 'main' top Amethyst crystal is deep purple to partially Smoky in colour, doubly-terminated but with crenulated, multiple terminations at its tip. The lower crystal is pale gemmy purple with great transparency. There looks to be a very slight rub to one side of the termination of the larger crystal, but this is still a really lovely piece and something to certainly grab the attention of those who see it.
