It is well known that Amethyst is extremely rare at Heißer Stein mine in the Wölsendorf Fluorite Mining District, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany and so this triangular-shaped small cabinet-sized specimen is a really special piece. It is not perfect, with some slight chipping to a few of the crystal tips, but it still presents really well indeed with very glassy crystal faces. Not only does is display rich purple Amethystine areas, but the Quartz crystals also show reddish zones, known by the name Eisenkiesel.
