A classic Alpine Rock Crystal type colourless Quartz crystal, displaying the Gwindel habit from Tujetsch in the Vorderrhein Valley, Switzerland. Reaching 12.5 cm in length this is a notable size Gwindel and in in great overall condition sat upon a white Milky Quartz base layer. Gwindels are typically defined by not just their parallel growth of crystals, but because of a twist in their allignment as they grew, and this is see as a slight rotational twist to the stacked array of double terminated crystals on this excellent display specimen. Tujetsch is a municipality at the head of Vorderrhein Valley and although a more specific locality is not provided, one of the most famous in this area is Val Giuv.
