When it comes to chocolate-brown Pyromorphite crystals there are very few places in the world, and even fewer where the crystals are large, perfect individual prisms. In fact, there is probably nowhere better than Pcheloyad mine in Bulgaria. This statement is supported by this exceptional, large display specimen. Upon its bed of small white terminated Quartz crystals are many individual brown hexagonal prisms of Pyromorphite, the largest of which reaches 1.8 cm in length. Some form clusters, but others are isolated and viewable all round. Many of these show slight colour zonation, with paler cream coloured tips. There is damage to a few of the crystals, but also many in pristine condition and they present extremely well overall. The back of the sample contains a core of Sphalerite grading from almost opaque black to translucent gemmy green-brown. An extremely fine larger display specimen of the rare brown form of Pyromorphite crystals.
