The Bunker Hill mine at Kellogg in Shoshone County, Idaho, is a polymetallic deposit with 43 recorded mineral species, yet as a mineral collector only one species comes to mind at the mention of this mine, Pyromorphite. There a numerous locations around the world known for their spectacular Pyromorphite and Bunker Hill certainly merits its place amongst the very best of these. Many colour variations are know from this mine which include green, orange and yellow, all in countless shades. This stunning miniature is that of caramel toffee grading to burnt apricot orange, with some pinacoid faces more a pure apricot orange. The Pyromorphite prisms form a tight cluster of elongated, slightly barrel shaped prisms, hexagonal in cross section and of up to approximately 2 cm long and is ex. matrix. This mixture of colours really enhances its three dimensional quality, elevating it to a superb miniature Pyromorphite from Bunker Hill mine in Idaho.
