For connoisseur's of mineralogy this is perhaps the ultimate specimen. Well, more so if you are interested in silver minerals. Obtaining a fine Proustite - one of the famous 'ruby silvers' - is hard enough even with a good bank manager. They are just so desirable because of their exceptional colour and rarity in anything remotely resembling a good crystal, and because many of the best older specimen have been exposed to direct sunlight causing them to darken. This miniature-sized Proustite is not only exceptionally well crystallized, free from damage and of the richest blood-red colour, but is from the Type Locality at Jáchymov (St. Joachimsthal), Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic. This is like the Holy Grail of silver mineral specimens and comes from the famous collection of Professor Werner Paar.
