If you love Native Gold and you love perfect crystals then take a close look at this stunner. Native Gold can take many forms: from rounded nuggets; hackly irregular masses; delicate leaf-like dendrtitic and crystalline forms; and more equant cubic or octahedral forms. However, the more perfect, blocky, symmetrical crystal forms are incredibly rare things indeed. This single, matrixless, octahedral crystal is absolutely magnificent. As a specimen it is small - a small thumbnail - but as a Native Gold crystal it is colossal, and it has such amazing surface features. At 1 x 1 x 1.1 cm in size and weighing 8 grams it is a marvel. In fact, I almost got too carried away to mention the locality: Zapata claims, Icabarú River placers in Bolívar, southern Venezuela. Ex Siber and Siber collection.
