A superb thumbnail specimen of intergrown Native Gold crystals from the Eagle's Nest mine at Sage Hill in the Michigan Bluff District of Placer County, California, USA. This mine has also gone under the name Mystery Wind mine, apparently an invented name to maintain the anonymity of the actual location at Eagle's Nest. Excellent crystals of Native Gold measuring to 8 mm display well defined triangular to diamond-like habits with hopper faces. The metal is a rich, bright gold indicating a high level of purity with a bright metallic lustre and two inclusions of milky white Quartz. A stunning miniature of Native Gold with a nett weight of 7.5 grams.
