This is a lovely crystallized Native Copper even before we look where it is from. With a slightly curved branching form, this quite robust large miniature specimen is a little like the shape of a shoot from a conifer tree. Rather than being flat dendrites, that are so often seen in Native Coppers, this specimen has quite chunky dendrites, made up of hundreds of octahedral crystals, all with a fine bright metallic copper colour and slight historic patina. It is from a copper mine called Onganja mine, situated on Helen Farm 235 near the hamlet of Seeis in Windhoek District of Namibia. Ex David Baker collection.
