This miniature specimen bears two of Långban's rarities, but a microscope is required to really appreciate them. The first, Nadorite, is visible with the eye as several pale yellow patches on the upper surface of the specimen. Under magnification several of these areas are seen to contain classic tabular microcrystals of Nadorite, to 0.6 mm on edge, showing a passing resemblance to Wulfenite crystals in form, with their beveled edges. Associated with these are several radiating sprays of white acicular Manganohörnesite crystals up to 0.7 mm in length. Långban is the Type Locality for Manganohörnesite, and so it could be argued that the specimen should be labelled with that as the main mineral, but we have stuck with what the older collection labels have put. One of these labels (from Dr. Hans-Jurgen Wilke) records that the specimen was originally acquired in 1987 from Cureton Mineral Co. in Tucson.
