Although not the Type Locality, Tsumeb mine is certainly the premier locality for crystallized Mottramite - a very rare lead copper vanadate species which often gets overlooked due to its camouflage colour and appearance. At Tsumeb mine it presents in several different crystal forms. One of those is rich, dense, dendritic aggregates, and this smaller cabinet-sized display specimen shows this habit particularly well. The dark moss-green to khaki-green branching growths of Mottramite are composed of many individual blocky crystals alligned, rather than the more typical finely crystallized botryoidal layers and crusts. A very richly crystallized example of this rare species.
