This is an Australian classic - and big and showy too. At 19.3 cm in length this is a significant Malachite specimen, especially when it is almost entirely copper carbonate, has such a wonderful textural form and is in such fantastic condition. Specimens of this size and quality date to two discoveries during the 1970s (1975 and 1977), both at Brown's Prospect, Rum Jungle, Northern Territory, Australia. Sculptural 'bubbles' of botryoidal Malachite display an eye-catching velvety appearance. Added to that is the light sprinkling of glossy Pyromorphite crystals across the surface. A world-class Australian Malachite worthy of an important display.
