Much less common than Malachite stalactites from the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Chinese occurrence at Shilu mine in Yangchun Co., Yangjiang, Guangdong, are also extremely sculptural and possess a stunning rippled velvety surface lustre. This large cabinet specimen is very characterful indeed, encompassing at least five gently curved and very pointed stalactites extending at a shallow angle away from a layered, banded Malachite bed at its base. The layering within the stalactites is not just the typical concentric bands, but in some cases looks like it runs through the stalactites at an oblique angle. Free from any noticeable damage, this quite significant-sized Chinese Malachite really does excel. This specimen comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand that positions this piece perfectly in its most aesthetic pose.
