Green coloured Anglesite (lead sulphate) is a great rarity from the Broken Hill mines in New South Wales, Australia and this example is has a number of good crystals. A flat plate of Goethite matrix varying from matt black through orange-brown, russet and rust, contrasts superbly against the light lime green, translucent Anglesite crystals, all with a bright satin lustre. The matrix hosts four predominant green Anglesite crystals, all approximately 3 to 4 mm square, with two on either side. About 15 more, very much smaller and paler green crystals, are scattered over the Goethite surfaces.
