Gerdtremmelite from the one and only known occurrence at Tsumeb mine, Namibia. One of the super rarities from Tsumeb, this zinc iron aluminium arsenate hydroxide is difficult to spot, but once you get your eye-in, it is a great specimen. Labelled, by the previous owner as "massive", in fact a textbook, 0.7 mm diameter, rosette of dark brown, almost grey Gertremmelite sits upon similarly coloured oxidized veinstuff. Another, very much smaller rosette is present on another part of the 10 mm wide specimen. A good, high-powered microscope is a must for this one, but the main rosette is a perfect example of this extremely rare, and hard to spot species.
