Nicely crystallised Galena is uncommon in Derbyshire and it largely occurs as massive deposits in the veins. This is a stunning example of a large, bright, cubo-octahedral crystal of Galena on a small fragment of matrix consisting of colourless Fluorite and Baryte, variety "Cawk". This showy, small cabinet specimen can only be attributed to Derbyshire, yet comes with a good provenance trail on one of its two accompanying labels.
