It is not only the striking emerald-green colour and perfect cubo-octahedral crystal form - a combination almost unheard of in Fluorite - that makes specimens from the 2024 find at Milpo mine in the Andes mountains, Peru so special, but it is their combination, perched on a bed of bright golden metallic crystals of Pyrite, which adds a striking touch of class. At cabinet size, this superb display specimen features many perfectly formed green cubo-octahedral Fluorite crystals to over 2 cm in size forming a long line across the top of a ridge of aggregated small golden Pyrite crystals. Underneath and within the Pyrite matrix are gun-metal grey crystals of Geocronite (actually Geocronite-Jordanite series), a normally extremely rare lead sulphosalt. This specimen sits naturally for display with subtle colour zonation within the Fluorite crystals from emerald-green to pale green-white edges giving it superb character.
