Spherical, or globular Fluorite is a real oddity, but was once well-known from the Jalgaon District in Maharashtra, India, albeit good specimens were rare. This great large miniature example was in Arvid Pasto's famous Fluorite collection - he wrote the book "Collectors Guide to Fluorite" in 2009, and this specimen is figured on page 17 (fig. 22). The Fluorite forms an almost complete hemisphere (one end is naturally slightly truncated with a perfectly straight edge) 2.9 cm in diameter sat upon a well-crystallized bed of Quartz with a lozenge-shaped frosted Calcite crystal accompanying it alongside. The Fluorite has a rich amber yellow colour and light transmits through it to produce a lovely glow. A very different Fluorite.
