Better known for its exceptionally glassy, large, pale green cubic crystals of Fluorite, this cabinet-sized specimen from Xianghuapu mine in Hunan Province, China is quite different. It does have an underlying pale green glassy Fluorite core, but upon this are unusual pale blue frosted (finely stepped) pyramidal and octahedral Fluorite crystals (reaching 1.5 cm across) along with many, similarly sized, flat, shallow rhombic white Calcite crystals. This piece might not instantly jump out as bright and colourful, but it is certainly a rarity for this important Chinese Fluorite occurrence. Ex Jesse Fisher Collection.
