As a state, Utah is not renowned for Fluorite localities, but there are always exceptions. In this case it is Deer Trail mine in the Mount Baldy-Ohio Mining District in Pilute County. Specimens from Deer Trail mine often display a quite distinctive pale sea-green colour and usually not as straightforward cubic crystals, but as complex modified cubo-octahedral crystals. This miniature specimen displays several heavily stepped crystals of a very pale sea-green colour and frosted appearance sat upon white sparry Quartz. The largest Fluorite crystal measures 1.8 cm in diameter. An unusual Fluorite from a little seen locality.
