This might not be the most colourful, or gemmy of Fluorite specimens, but as a rarer octahedral crystal it presents a really great shape. It comes from the ancient copper mining district of Schönbrunn at Oelsnitz, Vogtland, Saxony, Germany which was later reworked for fluorspar until 1991. As an individual octahedral crystal on a miniature-sized piece of matrix it looks really good, with just slight chipping to the tip of the crystal. Some crystals from Schönbrunn are encrusted with Quartz or Chalcedony but we believe that the opaque white colour of this crystal is still Fluorite. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection.
