Fluorite from Hirschau quarry at Böckstein, St. Johann im Pongau District, Salzburg, Austria is a real rarity, with most specimens having been collected back in the 1970s. Not only are specimens rare, but they also present a rare crystal form - natural octahedra. The Fluorite crystal surfaces are naturally slightly etched and the Fluorite is a creamy colour, rather than the more desirable green from Hirschau quarry, but the crystals do present a very good octahedral shape. This classic specimen, a fine crystallized miniature matrix piece, comes from Arvid Pasto's remarkable worldwide Fluorite collection and really demonstrates how complete his collection was. His collection number can be seen written on the surface of the specimen in the video.
