The Berbes Mining District in Asturias, northern Spain is one of the most famous mining regions in the whole of Spain due to its fabulous purple Fluorite specimens, many of which are seen in collections around the world. This small miniature specimen is different to most, in that it is not a bed of crystals, but one main individual cubic crystal, at just over 2 x 2 cm on edge, with a smaller cube attached to one corner. It presents a lovely soft purple colour, translucent within, but with very slightly frosted surfaces. It is missing a small part of its rear face and has very slight chipping along its front edges, but is still a very nice, and quite large crystal for the Berbes Mining District. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection.
