Presenting the rarer, and much sought-after, blackcurrent-purple variety of Fluorite from the famous Okorusu mine in Namibia, this thin, cabinet-sized display plate is dominated by large (edges to 4.6 cm across), sharp-edged stepped cubic Fluorite crystals. The crystals are all nicely glassy and show some good internal colour zoning for which Okorusu is famous. The rear of the specimen, which is a rough fractured surface where it was trimmed, has potential to be mechanically thinned to further enhance the beautiful colour zoning seen with back lighting. From an older German collection, this specimen probably dates to the 1990s or perhaps earlier.
