Classic Jeffrey mine material. This small cabinet specimen consists of a bed of tightly intergrown prisms of beige to cream coloured Diopside transitioning to a more glassy lime-green colour at their terminations. On top of these Diopside crystals is a crust of glossy, sparkling, intense grass-green chrome-bearing Grossular microcrystals. This assemblage is unique to Jeffrey mine and was famous during the 1990s. This is a lovely example which displays nicely if supported upright.
