If you are interested in historic collectors labels then this classic Chlorargyrite var. Embolite from Huelgoat in Brittany, France is full of potential, both with accompanying labels and those affixed to it. To the sample first, the Chlorargyrite forms the classic cream-grey waxy microcrystals and rounded globules scattered over a rusty iron oxide-rich coating lining an open cavity in heavily oxidized Quartz veinstone. It presents a nice, classy example of this unusual silver chloride species from one of the earliest recorded occurrences. Attached to the specimen is a typed label (no. 55) and a lovely handwritten blue-rimmed oval label. The accompanying labels include three handwritten labels one rimmed in red with a number (55) and one from J.C.A. Meine in Hannover which can be dated to 1879-1889. Finally, there is a modern typed label.
