Velvety deep green Malachite lines a large cavity forming the main display face of this cabinet-sized specimen from Palabanda quarries in Bouenza Department, Republic of the Congo. The Malachite crusts are quite thick, making up a large proportion of the matrix. Upon the Malachite are sat many creamy-white clusters of small reticulated, or 'snowflake'-like twinned Cerussite crystals to 5 or 6 mm across. The contrast of white on green and the sparse, even scattering of the Cerussite, makes for a very showy, pretty specimen. No damage. Recent material from this small series of quarries.
