Glassy and lustrous semi-transparent to translucent complex scalenohedral Calcite crystals are formed symmetrically around a hidden core of opaque, creamy-white rhombohedral Calcite. This specimen is from the mining area surrounding Bigrigg, a small village between Egremont and Cleator Moor in Cumbria, England. Individual Calcite crystals have grown in parallel alignment to create a linear array of two sets of joined crystals, giving the overall appearance of a line of double terminated crystals. An unusual and well crystallised Cumbrian Calcite.
