This miniature is rich in the rare nickel-antimony alloy Breithauptite and fine wires of Native Silver is from the Gowganda area within the Cobalt-Gowganda Region of Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada. Breithauptite was named for Johann Friedrich August Breithaupt (1791-1873), a professor at the in Freiburg who founded and developed the idea of paragenesis. The Breithauptite is a pinkish-mauve in contrast to the silver white of the micro-arborescent Native Silver, covering a milky white Quartz matrix.
