An excellent example of crystallised, bladed Baryte from the Halsbrücke mining area in Saxony, Germany. The Baryte forms an open radiating group of sub-parallel tabular crystals measuring 8.3 x 7.5 cm and whose colour grades from opaque white, to colourless and transparent at the crystal edges. All crystals have a bright lustre which creates fabulous bright reflections from the many crystal faces. The Baryte has formed on a small plate covered with pale lilac cubic crystals of Fluorite of up to 0.9 cm. In addition, the underside of the specimen has a 4 x 4 cm area coated with small crystals of creamy translucent Calcite. A highly aesthetic Baryte from Halsbrücke in Saxony.
