This really unusual specimen from Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne, France is a dense, cannon ball sized, spherical clay/mudstone nodule, within which is a large cavity lined with the most reflective, sparkling, small prismatic crystals of Baryte. Photography really does not do this specimen justice, as the golden Baryte crystals have an almost metallic appearance to them. The specimen is accompanied by an old dealer label from a well-known Baryte specialist. A remarkable specimen. Due to its weight (1.4 kg), additional postage charges will apply.
