AGATES II (Hardback)

Published by Bode in Germany in 2009, Agates II is a follow-up book to the highly successful 2005 publication “Agates”. Illustrated with over 2,200 images of polished agates this book introduces another 57 collectors from around the world with personal profile pages and images of specimens from their collections. It also provides updates on famous agate-producing localities across seven continents. This can seem a little ‘scattered’ as these details are presented in a large number of short sections, some relating to an individual locality within a country, or a group of new finds, but are included based on whatever new excavations/research had taken place prior to its publication. Nevertheless, there is much useful information provided. For Agate enthusiasts this is a hugely significant book and one which is rarely available. Used and signed with a personal dedication to “Liz & Dave” [Hacker] from Rainer [Bode] and Kristina. Hardback, with slight mottling to the cover, slight stains down the sides, a loosing of the binding and one slightly bent corner.
