Detailed information

Condition Used (Good)

Published by Walker Fine Arts in 2010, Objects of Curious Virtue: echoes of John Ruskin was written by artist David Walker Barker as an accompaniment to his exhibition of the same name at the Ruskin Archive at Lancaster University in 2010. Walker Barker’s work was inspired by an encounter, in 1984, with forgotten and seemingly unloved cabinets from the collection of one of England’s greatest Victorian polymaths. He set about recreating cabinets of curiosities and linking them to themes of place, meaning and memories, especially in relation to his own love of collecting geological materials. 106 printed pages, copiously illustrated with images of the cabinets within this exhibition. Used. In good condition.
