This extremely rich silver-ore specimen is very much characteristic or the mines at Medenec (Kupferberg) in the Krušné Hory Mts, Bohemia, Czechia although specimens are now so rarely seen available. Upon it, rounded, but well-formed almost dodecahedral, dark grey blocky Acanthite (note that these were recorded as Argentite on the previous collectors label, but that Argentite always converts to Acanthite at the Earth's surface) crystals to an impressive 1 cm across sit with platy, glossy, dark grey Stephanite crystals upon a somewhat arborescent aggregate of Nickeline. Ex Hans Engelbrecht Collection, no. 2552, acquired by him in 1981. This is a really top quality miniature specimen of this important assemblage from Medenec, in exceptional overall condition.
