Milpillas mine, in Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico is rightly famed for its exceptional Azurite crystals with their magnificent 'wet' resinous lustre, but this mine has also produced some of the world's finest specimens of Volborthite. This thumbnail specimen from the famous discoveries in 2014 presents excellent platy intergrown dark olive green crystals of Volborthite, upon the central area of a white clay-rich ('Dickite') matrix. Although undoubtedly a small specimen the Volborthite crystals it hosts are extremely high-class.
