J.C. Holmes mine in Santa Cruz County, Arizona has produced some of the best crystals of Vanadinite seen in the USA, most of which were collected during the 1950s and 1960s. As seen in this great small miniature specimen their form is of much more elongated prisms than usually seen in Vanadinite, almost reminiscent of Mimetite with bevelled sloping pyramidal faces towards each termination. They form a rich orange colour with an excellent resinous lustre and individually reach 4 mm in length. Ex David Hardman collection who most likely obtained it during the 1960s.
