A impressively large covering of lustrous, silky blue-green plumes of Tyrolite crystals coat the display face of an opaque milky Quartz matrix, from the Holz Alp on the Gratlspitz near Brixlegg in Tyrol, Austria. The Tyrolite is associated with probable green Cornwallite and minor royal blue Azurite. The mineralisation covers a flat fracture plane which, while in-situ, was a sub-millimetre wide fracture evident by the way the Tyrolite has crystallised as flat, two dimensional sprays against the matrix’s surface. An impressive cabinet specimen of Tyrolite.
