This highly aesthetic specimen features two intergrown, gemmy, light pink Elbaite crystals, Elbaite being a member of the Tourmaline Group. This small cabinet specimen is from a gem producing pegmatite in Mawi, Nuristan, Laghman Province, in north eastern Afghanistan. The Elbaite displays extensive gemmy areas throughout, with the largest crystal measuring 5.5 cm tall and 1 cm in diameter, across the 'C' face. The delicate candy pink prisms display to advantage set on a pinkish, light creamy-tan plate of Feldspar matrix. A really pleasing specimen of Elbaite to add to your Tourmaline collection.
