A real German classic of a well-developed, wine-yellow, gemmy-translucent terminated Topaz crystal measuring to 2 cm tall. This sits nicely on a matrix of Quartz crystals and is from the world-famous Schneckenstein Cliff area in Germany. The cliff extends over 883 metres, forming the NW slope of Kielberg mountain. The characteristically yellow Topaz is found in a greisen, a granite which has been altered by the late-stage release of magmatic volatilises, i.e. gases and liquids.
