A classic pink gemmy-translucent crystal of Kunzite from Dara-i-Pech in Konar Province, Afghanistan. A well-developed, thickly bladed crystal of Spodumene measuring to 6.7 x 2.5 x 1.4 cm with areas of natural etching is set against a white platy Albite matrix of the variety Cleavelandite. Kunzite, the pink variety of Spodumene, forms a sharp equant chisel-shaped termination. The prism faces and termination are lightly striated giving the entire crystal a silky lustre.
