This magnificent Sphalerite from the Bad Grund district in Lower Saxony, Germany, is capped with aesthetic glassy milky Quartz crystals to form an eye-catching miniature. The Sphalerite occurs as superb, blocky, isometric crystals, the largest of which measures approximately 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm. The Sphalerites are intensely reflective with mirror-like faces. They are generally opaque black, but commonly display translucent zones of golden-lemon yellow and deep orange-clove. A beautiful specimen of Sphalerite and Quartz from the historic mines of Lower Saxony.
