An excellent cluster of dappled, yellowish-caramel brown Siderite forming intergrown rhombic crystals to 3 cm. Two inner faces are coated with well-formed lustrous dark bronze-brown reticulated Rutile crystals; the variety termed Sagenite, displaying distinct cross-hatching and measuring to 1 cm. The Siderite crystals sit on a long, 1 cm thick sliver of foliated Quartz schist with lustrous Albite crystals aligned to the foliation.. This delightful small cabinet specimen is from the Furka Base tunnel (= Furka Basis) at Realp in Uri, Switzerland. The Furka Base tunnel is a Swiss railway tunnel on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn's Furka–Oberalp line, an east-west railway connecting the cantons of Valais and Uri.
