A superb, rich specimen of beautifully crystallised Siderite from Tincroft mine at Illogan, between Camborne and Redruth in Cornwall, England. Covering an elliptical matrix of massive milky-Quartz with a Hematite-rich core, the octahedral Siderite crystals range from 4 to 6 mm on edge and vary from semi-transparent golden-amber to a translucent dark chocolate-brown with hints of gold. The octahedral crystals, which are often chamfered along their edges with fine horizontal striations, have frosted prism faces making for a delightful example from the famous Tincroft mine. There is some minor contact damage on the highest protruding Siderite crystals, but still a wonderful classic Cornish specimen.
