An excellent cabinet specimen of Siderite with Quartz from the Iouriren (gold) mine at Akka in Morocco. The specimen displays a branch-like formation of stacked parallel rhombic Siderite crystals measuring to 2.7 cm. The light tan Siderite crystals have excellent well-formed lustrous faces and are slightly translucent. A gemmy-translucent Faden crystal of colourless-white Quartz forms a prominent feature on the specimen, positioned at an angle across the Siderite. The underside and back also contain crystals of similar Faden Quartz. A most attractive specimen from this privately owned gold mine.
