Rhodonite crystals with Galena - probably the most well-known and sought after mineral combination from the Broken Hill orebody. This fine miniature specimen is from the North Mine and is from the famous Milton Lavers Broken Hill collection. Well-formed gemmy to translucent raspberry red crystals of Rhodonite measuring to 12 mm across are embedded within Galena. Several of the Rhodonite crystals are well exposed revealing their crystal faces which show the typical rounded edges seen in Broken Hill material. A classic specimen of Rhodonite crystals from the mine. The mine was active from 1885 to 1993. Milton Lavers was actively collecting from the 1960s onwards and assembled one of the finest suites of Broken Hill minerals ever put together.
